Rectangle Bar RGB TTL TFT Display – 4.58″ 360×960 No Touchscreen – HD458002C40 Thin Film Transistor Display
This is a screen for advanced hackers who like the look of a loooooooong rectangular bar TFT screen with tons of pixels. The 4.58″ rectangular display has 360×960 16-bit full-color pixels and is an IPS display, so the color looks great up to 80 degrees off-axis in any direction.
This version does not have a touchscreen.
Rectangle Bar RGB TTL TFT Display – 3.7″ 240×960 – No Touchscreen – HD371001C40
The TFT driver is ST7701S and uses both SPI and TTL RGB ‘dot clock’ data. The SPI is only for configuring the display – you cannot draw pixels over SPI! Also, despite having a 40-pin connector, it does not have the same pinout as standard ‘rectangular’ 800×480 (4.3″, 5″ or 7″) or 480×272 (4.3″) displays. It’s a new kind of beast for sure.
To make stuff light up you’ll need a chip that can perform TTL RGB TFT driving, which means a powerful microcontroller such as the ESP32-S3 with octal PSRAM or a computer like a Raspberry Pi (with either direct-DPI connection or an intermediary chip like the ICN6211). Either way, it’s not something you can wire up to your Feather or Arduino. Also, to make this even more exciting as a display, the internal memory is set up as 360×960, but the leftmost 120 pixels are considered overscan and don’t show up.

With the 16×8 LED Matrix Backpack we’ve doubled your project’s matrix capacity by making it super easy to get two separate 8×8 matrices onto one handy board! Matrices like these are ‘multiplexed’ – so to control 64 LEDs you need 16 pins and to control 128 LEDs, you’d need 24 pins. That’s a lot of pins, and there are driver chips like the MAX7219 that can control a matrix for you but there’s a lot of wiring to set up and they take up a ton of space. Here at Adafruit we feel your pain! After all, wouldn’t it be awesome if you could control two matrices without tons of wiring? That’s where this lovely 16×8 LED matrix backpack comes in. It works perfectly with the matrices we stock in the Adafruit shop and makes adding a bright little display trivial.

HDMI 4 Pi: 5″ Display (no Touch) w/Mini Driver – 800×480 HDMI
Yes, this is a cute little 5″ TFT display with WVGA 800×480 resolution and a cute little driver board. We tried to get the smallest display that would be good for embedded computing usage and at a good price. And we also tried to match it with a small driver board that can be powered from a USB port. The visible display measures 5″ diagonal and is a ‘raw’ TTL display as is used in portable electronics. The driver board only has an HDMI input but for Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone Black and other computers, HDMI is the best quality output available. The display is very easy to use – simply connect the USB power cable to 5V power supply that can provide 500mA, then connect a digital video source to one of the HDMI port. Voila, a display!
