RIVERHEAD, NY — A Riverhead traffic stop Friday led to the discovery of a loaded Glock handgun, as well as fentanyl, crack, and cocaine, police said.
According to Riverhead Town police, the incident took place at 2:09 a.m. on Northville Turnpike, when a patrol officer stopped a motor vehicle for a covered rear license plate. Patio Pergola
The driver, Giavanna Rose Pergola, 19 of Port Jefferson Station, and the passenger Javon Holliday, 21, of Riverhead were found with a loaded .45 caliber Glock handgun that had been reported stolen from Virginia, police said.
Additionally, Pergola was found with a large quantity of fentanyl, crack cocaine and cocaine that had been found secreted on her person while at the Riverhead Police Department headquarters, police said.
Holliday was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon; criminal possession of a firearm; criminal possession of stolen property (handgun); and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Pergola was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon; criminal possession of a firearm; criminal possession of stolen property (handgun); seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; and second-degree criminal using drug paraphernalia, police said.
