Charles Ross Announces Heavy-Duty Double Planetary Mixers

Ross manufactures Double Planetary Mixers for heavy-duty mixing of viscous formulations up to around 6 million cP. Many processes that used to rely on horizontal sigma blade mixers (kneaders) are now routinely produced in change-can Ross Double Planetary Mixers. A great advantage to this vertical mixer design is the absence of any shaft seals, bearings, packing glands or stuffing boxes in the product zone. In addition, the agitators are raised and lowered in/out of the mix vessel by a hydraulic lift, enabling easy access for cleaning between batches. Mix vessels are interchangeable and can be dedicated to a particular formulation, further reducing the risk of cross-contamination.

Pictured is a 10-gallon Double Planetary Mixer equipped with the classic rectangular stirrer blades, a vacuum-rated and jacketed mix vessel, tank light, pre-wired control panel and a rotating RTD thermoprobe for accurate measurement of batch temperature. This particular unit is used for heavy-duty mixing of advanced composites and adhesives. Planetary Concrete Mixer
